Artist Statement

I am a proud Latina of Mexican descent and bring that identity into every space I enter. As a dancer and choreographer, I seek and create spaces that reinforce community connections through movement. My works tell human and natural stories for the body with soft gentleness, breathy, and flowy qualities. My work explores combining Latin styles with contemporary to create a fusion that feels authentic to our roots and feeds our souls. I strive to help my community by creating opportunities for Latine and other POC dancers to be seen on the dance concert stage and to share their stories and experiences.
